National Service Scheme (NSS)

About N.S.S.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunities to students at the college level to take part in various government-led community service activities and programmes. The primary objective of the NSS is to develop the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service.

Mission

To enable the students to understand the community in which they work, identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.

 

Objectives of NSS Club

  • To understand the community in which students work.
  • To develop a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  • To utilize students’ knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
  • To develop leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
  • To build capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.

  • Blood donation camps
  • Tree plantation drives
  • Cleanliness and sanitation awareness campaigns (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan)
  • Health awareness camps
  • Road safety and traffic awareness programs
  • Visits to orphanages and old age homes
  • Workshops on gender equality and environment conservation
  • Annual Special Camps in rural or underdeveloped areas
