Mentoring Activity

At PVPIT Sangli in the First year Engineering department, the Mentoring Activity is a structured and continuous initiative designed to support students in their academic, personal, and professional development throughout their engineering education. Each faculty member is assigned a small group of 4 to 5 students from their respective branches, and this mentor-mentee relationship is maintained consistently during the students’ entire academic tenure. Mentors maintain detailed Student Information Forms, which include personal details, academic performance, and records of co-curricular and extracurricular participation. They conduct at least two formal interactions per semester to identify and address challenges students may face, whether related to academics, hostel life, or general well-being. Any significant concerns or feedback are communicated to higher authorities for timely intervention. Students are also encouraged to share personal or emotional difficulties during these sessions, where mentors offer guidance, support, and solutions to help them navigate challenges effectively. This mentoring system plays a vital role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment at PVPIT.

Counseling Activity

The Counselling Activity at PVPIT, Sangli, is designed to support students’ emotional well-being, academic progress, and career development. It encourages students to openly discuss their ideas, concerns, and personal issues in a safe and supportive environment. Counselling helps reduce stress, build self-confidence, and improve awareness of both personal and institutional resources. It aims to foster wisdom, provide guidance, and offer continuous encouragement. Through constructive feedback, the activity promotes greater self-esteem, motivation to succeed, and stronger interpersonal relationships with faculty, peers, and family members. Each class is assigned a counsellor, who may be an internal expert-such as a Dean, Head of Department, Coordinator, or Class Teacher-or an external professional from the medical field.

Class Teacher Role and Student Support

At PVPIT, Sangli, Class Teachers help students with their studies and support them in adjusting to college life. They guide students in understanding difficult subjects and encourage them to take part in group activities, seminars, and other college events. Class Teachers also help students improve their skills in research, presentations, and paper writing. If a student is marked as a defaulter (low attendance), they should contact their Mentor or Head of First Year Engineering within 2-3 days after the defaulter list is displayed on what‘s app group of students and parents.

Remedial Lectures

Remedial lectures are organized for students who are either struggling in a particular subject or have failed in a previous semester.

Note:

  • Students are required to attend remedial lectures as per the scheduled timetable.
  • The timetable for remedial lectures will be displayed after the completion of the Mid-Term/End-Term tests.
